An Atlanta mother is raising awareness about her daughter who has a multitude of medical conditions and has been missing for seven months.

Destiney Gunnison, 30, reportedly left her father’s house in East Point to head to a friend’s house in Oakland City on May 12, according to her mother, who spoke with FOX 5 Atlanta.

“Destiney has been missing for seven months, and I’m just reaching out to the community because she has health issues and I would really like the community to pitch in and find her so we can get her back home,” said Erica Gunnison. She asked that her face not be shown because she fears there was foul play in her daughter’s disappearance and fears for her own safety.

“My cry out to the community is to help us find Destiney and bring her home,” said Erica Gunnison, Destiney’s mother.

Gunnison says her daughter has never missed a holiday with her family.

“She’s never missed a Thanksgiving. She’s just never missed anything. She’s never missed a phone call. So not hearing from her is concerning,” Gunnison said.

Destiney is 5-feet-5-inches tall, has black hair and brown eyes. Her mother said she has the mental capacity of a child and has seizures which she requires medication for. She also walks with a slight twist and has a light tick at times.

“She doesn’t distinguish good and bad – from who’s good and who’s bad. She just thinks everyone has a good heart,” her mother told FOX 5 Atlanta. “My main concern is her seizures and whether or not she’s getting medication. Because that’s the most serious symptom she can have. She has all sorts of seizures.”

The Black and Missing Foundation has also been posting about Destiney’s disappearance to boost awareness.

If you see her or have any information about her whereabouts since May, give East Point police a call at 404-761-2177 and ask for Sgt. Leary.

“Please contact us and let us know. Reach out. Let us know where she’s at. If it’s someone that knows, and they want to stay anonymous, that’s fine. We just need to know,” Erica said.
