“Operation Not Forgotten” and “Operation Safety Net”

In August 2020, authorities located 39 missing children in Georgia during a two-week effort to rescue endangered minors. The US Marshals Service Missing Child Unit led the search, dubbed “Operation Not Forgotten.” In collaboration with the agency’s Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and local/state agencies.
In Ohio, authorities rescued 25 missing children ages 13 to 18. Despite social media reports, of the children being discovered in a double-wide trailer. The children were found in a variety of places – homes, motels, on the street.
We spoke with Derrica Wilson, who runs the Black and Missing Foundation. Wilson and her sister-in-law Natalie founded Black and Missing in 2008, after the 2004 disappearance of Tamika Huston, a 24-year-old woman from Spartanburg, South Carolina.
