Circumstances of Disappearance: On the afternoon of Friday, July 21, 1961, Hattie Jackson and her ten-year-old brother left their home located in the 5600 block of 8th Street, NW, Washington, DC to meet up with two other friends before all walking to Rock Creek Park. While playing in the creek, a white male in his 30s approached the group and told them he knew where clean blue water was and asked them if they wanted to go. Hattie was last seen with this person before her reported disappearance.

Last Seen Wearing: Hattie was last seen wearing a white long-sleeve blouse, brown/white checkered shorts, pink sandals and a blue hair ribbon.

Identifying Marks or Characteristics: When Hattie was two months old, she was treated by a doctor for bilateral Metatarsus Adductus requiring her legs to be cast to correct the deformity of her feet.
