Houston rapper Trae Tha Truth’s 6-year-old daughter Truth Thompson is missing. He’s asking for your help to bring her home.

“I can honestly say I’m completely lost,” Trae says.

You may remember Trae for all the help he gives others, from rescuing residents from floodwaters to clearing debris after severe storms. Now his baby girl has been missing for months.

“The last time I saw her was August 16, 2024. (She went on a visit with her mom?) Yes. That Friday when I dropped her off, that was the last time I saw her. (You believe she’s still with her mom?) Definitely. Her mom doesn’t have her apartment anymore, her car. All the phones are off. I hired a private investigator in the beginning. They spotted her two or three times in L.A. (Los Angeles) Since then, nobody has seen her. (You have custody?) Yes, I have custody,” Trae explains.

The expensive, frustrating battle Trae is fighting is, unfortunately, one many parents have to face.

“It is unfortunately very common, which is why under Texas law, we have some very good protective measures to try and recover children and punish parents that would think that would be OK to defy a court order. I’ve been practicing family law in Harris County for 18 years, and I’ve seen a wide variety of these types of cases. This particular case with Trae Tha Truth seems to be abnormal to me because of the ability for the mother to have crossed state lines and remain hidden. Typically, in my practice, I see parents who are able to be found. Normally, children are able to be recovered. We live in a world with social media,” explains Family Law Attorney Anne Kennedy.

“I just want my daughter back. I’m very concerned. Whether it be her well-being, what she eats. Whether it be where she lays her head. Her surroundings. None of that is safe. I feel right now my child is not in a safe place. I believe God is going to get her back. Even when she comes back, I have to deal with everything that comes with that. I have to deal with if my baby’s mad at me at the moment because she doesn’t know what’s going on, what she’s being told. I have to deal with her mental. She’s not in school a whole semester. Anybody who knows where she is this is about a child. This isn’t about parents or nothing else. Do what’s best to get my baby to a stable environment. My child is living home to home, place to place. She’s not even able to go outside because, at this point, she would get spotted. If anyone sees her or knows where she is please call 911,” says Trae.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office says it is working with several agencies to get little Truth back home and FBCSO confirms there is a warrant out for the arrest of Heather Cuevas for Child Endangerment and Child Interference.

“I’ve been through a lot of hard things in my life. Not knowing where your child is, not being there to protect your child is a different type of pain,” says Trae.
