BAMFI Enterprises Earns Five National Telly and Communicator Honors for Relisha Rudd and Pamela Butler Documentaries
Hyattsville, MD — BAMFI Enterprises, the media and production arm of the Black and Missing Foundation, Inc. (BAMFI) has earned four Silver Telly Awards and a Communicator Award for its original programming. Produced in close partnership with the Black and Missing Foundation, the network-quality productions secured honors across major entertainment categories, including True Crime, Film & Shorts, and Unscripted programming for “The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd: A Cold Case Reexamined,” as well as a True Crime honor for “The Tragic Story of Pamela Butler: The Power of Perseverance.”
The award-winning productions revisit critical cases that drew national attention and highlighted systemic failures surrounding vulnerable communities. “The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd: A Cold Case Reexamined” looks back at the disappearance of an 8-year-old Washington, D.C. girl, exposing the cracks in the system surrounding missing Black children, while “The Tragic Story of Pamela Butler: The Power of Perseverance” chronicles a relentless fight for answers and justice.
“Receiving these recognitions is incredibly meaningful because it affirms the care, intention, and power behind these stories,” said Derrica Wilson and Natalie Wilson, Founders and Managing Partners of BAMFI Enterprises, in a joint statement. “Whether revisiting Relisha’s disappearance or chronicling Pamela’s family’s fight for justice, our goal has always been to create content that informs, amplifies, and honors the individuals and families at the center of these cases. These awards show that stories rooted in advocacy can resonate deeply on a national stage, well beyond the initial headlines.”
These projects are part of BAMFI Enterprises’ broader mission to use media and storytelling as tools for awareness, advocacy, and cultural impact. Following the success of HBO’s award-winning documentary “Black and Missing,” BAMFI Enterprises has continued expanding its footprint across film, television, and podcasting with stories often overlooked by mainstream true crime and investigative media.
The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens and are judged by leaders from television, streaming, production, and digital media. The Communicator Awards recognize excellence in marketing, communication, and creative storytelling, honoring “The Vanishing of Relisha Rudd” specifically for distinction in the Causes and Awareness arena.
