Black and Missing Foundation to Host Its Fourth Annual ‘Hope Without Boundaries’ 5k Run/Walk on Saturday, June 4

(Landover Hills, MD) – The Black and Missing Foundation (BAMFI) will hold its fourth annual ‘Hope Without Boundaries’ 5K walk/run on Saturday, June 4 at the National Harbor in Ft. Washington, Maryland.

The 5K run/walk is being held to bring awareness to the hundreds of thousands of persons of color who are missing – across the nation and to EMPOWER our communities to take action to help find them or to provide much needed closure/answers for families.

“The number of missing African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans is astronomical,” said BAMFI Founders Natalie Wilson and Derrica Wilson. “We are holding this inspiring, family-friendly 5K to bring more attention to the countless number of missing children, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, friends-who might otherwise be overlooked.”

Persons of color represent close to 40 percent of all those missing in the United States. As a result of BAMFI’s efforts, 180 people have been located since its inception in 2008.

Lending support to the event are FOX5DC Morning News Anchor Allison Seymour, News Anchor Maureen Umeh and News Coordinator Micheline Bowman.

The event is a fundraiser and all monies raised will support families of the missing- financially, with flyer distribution, victim recovery, and burial service assistance.
